Bibeau takes women rights, health to Denmark
The
Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of International Development and La
Francophonie, recently traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark, to attend the Women
Deliver conference, May 16 to 18, 2016.
Women
Deliver is the world’s largest global conference on the health, rights and
well-being of women and girls. During her visit, the Minister met with
ministers of health and development from other donor countries, heads of
international and Canadian organizations, and other key partners.
The
Minister’s participation at the conference offers a unique opportunity to
highlight Canada’s efforts to champion key issues for women and girls, such as
sexual and reproductive health and rights, innovative health financing, ending
child, early and forced marriage, and nutrition.
Minister
Bibeau was accompanied by the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Status of
Women.
